I look forward to meeting you and working with you to grow your math knowledge.  Even though this year may look and feel different from any other we have had before, I am excited about teaching and together we will find success with understanding, patience, and resilience.

Individual Google Classroom pages will be used throughout the year for student calendars, notes, classwork/assignments, feedback, resources, etc.

There is a Google Classroom for each class I teach, so contact me (email Mr. McKinney) for the code to be admitted to the class.

If you have any questions, please contact me.  I'll be happy to help in any way I can.

Math Resources

Google Classroom

Google Classroom has classroom notes, assignments, important links, and resources for each of my classes.  Students are given a classroom code at the beginning of each year to access the site.  The Google Classroom app is available, for free, for multiple devices and platforms.

Desmos online calculator

Desmos is a free online graphing program with an easy to use interface.  Students can create a Desmos profile using their school Google account allowing them to save and share their graphs. Desmos also provides a free app on nearly every device and platform.

Khan Academy

This site provides videos and other support in the area of mathematics. This website also provides support as you prepare for the mathematics portion of the SAT.

GeoGebra

GeoGebra allows students to explore complex concepts in mathematics via various math related apps and tools.  The program goes beyond what a traditional calculator can offer and also features a Geometry mode for geometric constructions and analysis.  GeoGebra has a free app for devices and allows students to create a profile with their school Google accounts.

Math is Fun

MathisFun offers lessons in an easy to learn manner.  It covers topics in math from K-12 and is very easy to navigate.

Mathbits

MathBits is Common Core On-Line Mathematical Resources for High School students, offering fun, yet challenging, lessons and activities in secondary mathematics.

SAT prep

The site offers free SAT practice test questions and support for preparing for the test.

Supply List for all classes

1.  Graphing Calculator, preferably TI-84+  (TI-83 is okay also) *other calculators do work, but this is the one the book links to, and I am most familiar with
2.  Binder specifically for math class to keep and organize materials, handouts, homework, etc.
3.  Pencils/pens and lots of paper (also graph paper can be helpful).
