Thank you for taking the time to virtually visit!
I joined the teaching staff at Haslett High School last fall, and love being able to work in the same community I live in. I am naturally a curious and creative individual, which keeps me busy both in and out of my classroom. I have always been a 'book person' and even have a cat named after one of my favorite literary characters of all time - Boo Radley.
The best part of teaching in Haslett is the students. They are resilient, talented, and want to be catalysts for change.
This year will undoubtedly present unique challenges. Through it all, our goal will be to make the comeback stronger than the setback.
“There are many little ways to enlarge your world. Love of books is the best of all.”

English 10 Texts
Under normal circumstances, we would utilize a class set of 35-40 books. This title is not within the public domain and educational use does not apply, meaning copyrights are still in place.
Making sure each student has a copy of the text for their dedicated use at this time is important, yet not feasible.
To alleviate this issue, I am asking families with the financial means to purchase used or new copies of this text to please do so. This allows the district's copies of the text to be distributed to others.

Reading Resources
Classroom LibraryCapital Area District Libraries
Each student K-12 has a Student Success Initiative account with the Capital Area District Libraries. This is in addition to any existing accounts. It enables Haslett students to borrow materials and utilize the library's services:
Classroom Library Catalog - Goodreads
Our classroom library is available for browsing online through use of Goodreads! Use the 'shelves' to assist you in locating titles, then use the Goodreads interface to read a summary and reviews by other readers.
You are welcome to borrow from the classroom library - even during virtual and hybrid learning! See Ms. Hart for details!
Curating a classroom library is an expensive endeavor, but I strongly believe you should be surrounded by words and ideas! So, please be a courteous patron. Follow the procedures for checking out books so they can be tracked, and return them in good condition so others can enjoy them as well.
